Protocols for Buying Hay
Because of the heavy workload that we will be having, we are going to be implementing some new practices for buying hay. Our time will be very limited, so we are effecting these mostly to help with the best time efficiency, for you and us!
There will be NO hay pick-ups before 8:00am or after 7:00pm.
You MUST schedule 24 hours in advance if you want to come pick up or view hay at the barn.
You MUST be on time. If you are more than 20 minutes late, we will not wait and you will have to reschedule.
Please bring the appropriate equipment for the amount of hay you are picking up, as well as have an open stacking area.
Payment will be due at the time of pick-up or delivery. We will accept cash or check only. NSF checks will be charged $25 extra.
You may have to receive some rebaled hay. It is not of lesser quality, it is just redone from a big square bale to a small square bale.
Deliveries need to be scheduled at least 4 days in advance.
Hay prices will be fair market value and will not be locked in. Prices will increase per cutting.
Labor costs and mileage fees will apply to ALL deliveries. Labor costs will be based on equipment needed and number of people needed.
You may prepay for up to 1,000 bales at a time. There may be a storage fee involved.
There will be NO picking up hay out of the field.
Hopefully, this will allow us to streamline the business and use our time as wisely as possible to better be able to supply you, our greatest assets. It also allows us some occasional (and much needed!) down time.
Thank you for your cooperation!
